New Year's Resolutions

Well it’s the start of another New Year and whether you have made or plan to make resolutions it is pretty tricky to avoid the ‘New Year, New Me’ mindset. Personally, I am a fan of this time of year. I love to hear what people want to achieve and how they see themselves growing over the next year. I find the whole energy which envelopes this time of year really inspiring. With that in mind, I thought I would share some of my resolutions with you:

No. 1 – Stop biting my nails

This one has been on my list since time immemorial and is most likely related to nervousness and just plain old habit but it is gross and has to stop … especially if I am every going to achieve my real goal of becoming a part-time hand model. I joke but if you catch me doing it, you have my full permission to slap my hand away from my mouth!

No. 2 – Tidy that cupboard under the stairs

And by ‘cupboard under the stairs’ I really mean that cupboard, under my bed, the bottom of my wardrobe and, come to think of it, the top of my wardrobe as all of the afore mentioned locations have been taken over by sneakers. They are everywhere; send help!

No. 3 – Be Brave

Friends have told me I need to ‘get myself out there more’ with Second Store so in 2018, I am committing to telling you more about me, my story, my passion for sneakers and about running Second Store on my own. Eeek! Cue the nail biting.

No. 4 – Fit and Healthy

Last year, as I am sure you can imagine, was a bit hectic! I fell out of good habits I had formed such as walking around four miles a day and attending 2-3 yoga classes a week. I am really looking forward to incorporating these things back into my daily routine as they make such a massive difference to my wellbeing. At the moment it seems like scary prospect and I don’t know how or where I will find the time but self-care is so important, I will be carving out some dedicated time to look after myself in 2018.

No. 5 – Collaborate more

This is a really fun one and something I can’t wait to get my teeth into in 2018. I have loads of wonderful friends and inspirational women in my life and I would like to take the time to collaborate with them in order to share their art, music, dance, community projects, everything they get up to with you guys so watch this space.
